erectile dysfunction, Nutrient IV Therapy, Testosterone Therapy

Let’s face it, no man wants to have low testosterone levels. Whether it decreases due to stress or naturally as one of the effects of getting older, testosterone levels are important to men. Testosterone is a hormone that turns boys into men, meaning it causes the hair on our chest to grow, builds our muscles, deepens our voice, and grows the penis and testes. However, testosterone levels fluctuate from day to day and even hour to hour. It’s usually highest in the morning and lowest at night. There is also a certain time period in our life where it starts to plummet, starting around ages 30 - 35.

So How Can We Naturally Boost Testosterone Levels?

Before you try to boost your low testosterone levels with a testosterone therapy, there are certain foods that can help naturally increase your levels.

Spinach

Spinach is a superfood that is high in many vitamins and nutrients and it is also one of the foods boosting testosterone. While you won’t immediately notice a difference, increasing spinach into your diet is a good idea in the long run. It just takes some time to see the results. Spinach has magnesium, vitamin B6, potassium, zinc that help decrease levels of stress! These are all important factors that can help increase your testosterone levels.

Pomegranate

According to the Endocrine Abstracts, pomegranate juice intake enhances salivary testosterone levels and improves mood and wellbeing in healthy men and women. We recommend consuming the actual fruit itself or a 100% pure pomegranate juice because the addition of other fruits or blends will be high in sugar and won’t have the same effect.

Oysters

Slurp it down! Oysters are a high in zinc, which are excellent in boosting testosterone. In addition, the zinc found in oysters also increases muscle growth, physical endurance, and sperm production. So, go ahead and enjoy those 2-for-1 oysters, it can benefit your low testosterone levels.

Tuna

Tuna is a low-fat, high-protein fish that is high in vitamin D. This heart-healthy fish full of protein has been linked to testosterone production. After consuming just one can of tuna, you fulfill your vitamin D requirements for the day. Vitamin D is an important factor when it comes to boosting testosterone, but not everyone gets their recommended daily amount of D. That is why here at the biostation, we offer IV nutrient therapy to help increase those levels.

What are signs of testosterone being low?

Symptoms Low sex drive. Problems having an erection. Low sperm count. Sleep problems such as insomnia. Decrease in muscle size and strength. Bone loss. Increase in body fat. Depression. More items... •

Your provider will likely have you get a blood test to check your testosterone level. You will also be checked for other causes of your symptoms. These include medicine side effects, thyroid problems, or depression. If you have low testosterone, hormone therapy may help. The medicine used is man-made testosterone. This treatment is called testosterone replacement therapy, or TRT. TRT can be given as a pill, gel, patch, injection, or implant. TRT may relieve or improve symptoms in some men. It may help keep bones and muscles strong. TRT seems to be more effective in young men with very low testosterone levels. TRT can also be helpful for older men.

TRT has risks. These may include:

Infertility

Enlarged prostate leading to difficulty urinating

Blood clots

Worsening heart failure

Sleep problems

Cholesterol problems

At this time, it is unclear whether TRT increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, or prostate cancer. Talk with your provider about whether TRT is right for you. If you do not notice any change in symptoms after treatment for 3 months, it is less likely that TRT treatment will benefit you. If you decide to start TRT, be sure to see your provider for regular checkups.
